Team Lead – Structures, Senior Principal Structural Engineer - ( 240004KK ) Description You will be responsible for leading/carrying out/supervising structural consulting work including client management, scoping/securing projects, project management and supervision of other team members as well as undertaking and/or supervising the full range of structural analyses and designs undertaken by Stantec. You will provide technical expertise and leadership in all aspects of structural engineering. Ongoing contribution to the development of Stantec’s business goals and objectives of the Strategic Plan and developing key client relationships. Essential Functions Technical Capabilities Provide technical leadership on a range of health care, commercial, retail, defence, industrial and educational and buildings related projects through developing, scoping, leading and undertaking design, supervision and review. Provide technical expertise, direction, and coaching in terms of design, task allocation, monitoring of project progress and resourcing. Provide technical leadership and certification for design works Provide advice, solutions and project outcomes that create value for clients and provide Stantec with a differentiator in the market. Plan, program and coordinate assigned projects as Team Leader, Project Manager or Project Technical Lead, to deliver the agreed outputs on budget, on time and to agreed quality standards. Oversee the implementation of Stantec quality assurance processes on civil and structural project scopes, and deliver appropriately agreed quality of designs taking into consideration client project brief and risk appetite, project drivers, professional obligations and Stantec reputation. Provide effective technical and professional leadership /mentoring to intermediate/junior team members with a view to succession planning and building overall technical capability of the team. Maintain appropriate technical and professional qualifications. Client Relationships Develop strong working relationships with clients by delivering the highest level of service and understanding their respective business drivers. Proactively liaise with clients to ensure that their requirements are met, they are involved in the project execution and that any concerns are heard and addressed with no surprises delivery. Develop new client relationships to help expand Stantec’s market share. Business Development Prepare expressions of interest, proposals and marketing initiatives. Provide leadership on specific business development actions with other relevant Stantec staff. Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures Leadership Mentor junior structural staff by coaching within projects and ensuring technical advancements are made. Coach the professional development of juniors through engagement with industry bodies.
