The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships (QPWS&P) in the Northern Region is currently offering an exceptional opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to take on the role of Administration Officer. This position is vital for providing comprehensive administrative, financial, and human resource services to support a team dedicated to the management of assets, capital works, visitor experiences, and conservation efforts in national parks and State forests. In this role, you will be responsible for managing databases, record-keeping, processing financial transactions, and ensuring effective communication across different levels of the organization. You'll work closely with the regional support team, contributing to the smooth operational flow and enhanced service delivery across the Cape York, Tablelands and Dry Tropics, and Northern Gulf and Coastal Tropics Management Areas.Your Contributions:Maintenance of accurate records and databases, asset management, and generation of relevant reports and statistical information.Providing expertise on a wide range of administrative matters, including human resources, financial management, and office procedures.Identifying and implementing improvements in operational processes for higher efficiency and developing effective work practices.Frequent liaison with both internal staff and external clients for administrative support and information sharing. Administration of permits and licenses as part of legislative compliance managed by QPWS. Upholding a workplace culture that reflects respect, innovation, and inclusivity, with active engagement in enhancing outcomes for First Nations people.We are seeking an individual who can:Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of public sector finance, administration, information management, and human resources. Competently manage departmental databases and IT systems, or display the capability to rapidly acquire such knowledge, with proficiency in Microsoft 365,MECS, SAP, Aurion, Fraedom, and SharePoint being advantageous. Work independently and as an effective team player, manage projects and deadlines, and prioritize work effectively. Utilize excellent interpersonal and communication skills to address client needs and establish improved business practices.Eligibility Requirements:You must hold Australian citizenship or have visa permissions to work in Australia. Possession of an unrestricted manual driver's license is mandatory for handling government vehicles. Ability to provide evidence of immunizations against vaccine-preventable diseases due to potential exposure through work.
