The Role: Engineering Manager – Plant Maintenance As the Plant Maintenance Engineering Manager based in Mulgrave, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our plant and equipment. Reporting to the Branch General Manager and working closely with the National Engineering Manager, you will lead a dedicated team of maintenance professionals. You will drive operational excellence and continuous improvement, all within a structured, stable and manageable work schedule. Key Responsibilities: Operational Excellence: Partner with the Production team to ensure plant and equipment operate efficiently and safely, minimising downtime and ensuring full operational capacity. Preventive Maintenance: Lead the timely completion and tracking of preventative maintenance schedules through the CMMS, keeping equipment running smoothly. Process Improvement: Proactively identify efficiency improvements, automation opportunities, and contribute to Capex submissions. Project Leadership: Manage plant upgrades and installations, collaborating with the regional engineering team and contractors to meet project goals within budget and safety standards. Financial & Contractor Management: Oversee work within budget parameters and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to WHS systems, environmental regulations, and safety protocols, including wastewater, fire, electricity, asbestos, and boiler regulations. What We Are Looking For: You have an Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, OR a strong trade background in plant maintenance, supervision and project management. Proven supervisory or management experience, leading a team of tradespeople and contractors in a fast-paced, FMCG, Food, Continuous operation, safety-conscious environment. Proficiency in CMMS, and a solid understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles and safety risk assessments. Strong knowledge of AUS/NZ compliance standards, with experience in implementing corrective actions. Excellent communication skills, with a "can-do" attitude and a proactive approach to achieving results. A valid Driver’s License and a passion for staying updated with new technologies and trends in the industry.
