Role Overview The Asset's and Engineering team is responsible for the assessment, planning and management of the FPH 2 billon dollar asset base and annual capital investment plan. This is an important role within our Civil Team that will be actively engaged in the planning and delivery of our assets management strategies, capital works program, and management of our asset base. The role has a key focus on the performance, planning and renewal of our civil (pavements, stormwater, services), structural (buildings), and rail assets, ensuring they meet safety, compliance, and efficiency standards. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with operations and gather data to inform capital works planning and asset-related decision-making; Provide advice on facilities management, risk, technology, process improvement, and business opportunities alongside the Assets and Engineering team; Support infrastructure maintenance programs to ensure assets are safe, efficient, reliable, and meet required service levels; Develop and document asset management strategies, including Asset Management Plans and project priorities with budgets and outcomes; Oversee minor capital and maintenance projects, manage technical risks, and ensure compliance with standards through risk assessments and specifications; and Prepare budgets, forecasts, and tender documentation while strengthening customer relationships with expert civil/structural engineering advice. About you Your skills and experience will include; Tertiary qualification in engineering (qualified Civil/Structural Engineer); Proven experience in civil/structural engineering with strong technical expertise; Skilled in planning, implementing asset outcomes, and managing budgets and resources effectively; Proficient in engineering systems and software, Microsoft Suite; Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a creative approach to challenges; Exceptional attention to detail, organisation, and multitasking abilities, with a proactive mindset; Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, adept at conveying complex concepts to diverse audiences; Design or Project Engineer experience in Civil Engineering, in one or more of the following fields is highly desired: Pavement design and construction – preferably heavy duty industrial pavements Drainage and Water reticulation design Additional experience of benefit would include design or project engineer experience in Civil and/or Structural Engineering, ideally in one or more of the following fields: Maritime Structures – Wharves, Jetties, Navigation Aids Industrial/Commercial Buildings Earth retaining structures Benefits Flinders Port Holdings know that people are central to everything that we do.
