About Northern Health: Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north. Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg. About the Role: An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Medical Laboratory Technician to join the team at Northern Health on a part-time basis. This role would suit passionate Laboratory Technician who enjoy working as part of a team to contribute to the production of high-quality work and participation on a rotating roster. Based in within the Anatomical Pathology team the key responsibilities would be (but not limited to); specimen handling, Embedding and Microtomy of FFPE tissue, data entry, equipment maintenance, block and slide filing, cytopathology preparation, mortuary duties and other general laboratory responsibilities To be successful in this role you will have: A relevant diploma of applied science (Medical Laboratory), diploma or advanced diploma in laboratory technology or Laboratory Operations, or equivalent. Previous experience working in a diagnostic pathology laboratory with experience in anatomical pathology techniques. Proven ability to work in a fast-changing environment, working both independently and as part of a team Have a high attention to detail, organizational and time management skills. Next Steps . . .
