$134,567 - $161,521 up to 15.4% Superannuation Brindabella Park - ACT The Role Director Australian Defence Force Reserves and Employer Support (ADFRES) leads and manages an integrated team who provide support to reservists, their employers and the wider Defence organisation. The Director is responsible for ensuring delivery of ADFRES activities in order to meet the intent of the Reserve and Cadet Support Division Business Plan. The role includes the delivery of employer engagement activities: Stakeholder management; Oversight of legislative administration and program governance; Development of briefing materials and ministerial advice, correspondence and reporting documentation; Budget and some contract management; Support to a CDF appointed advisory body; and Participation in strategic and policy working groups. The ability to travel is required Strong leadership skills will be essential to supporting the implementation of the Strategic Review of the Reserves recommendations in 2025. About our Team ADF Reserves and Employer Support within Reserve and Cadet Support Division provides direct support to ADF Reserves, their employers and the community. The ADFRES mission is to enhance reservist contribution to Defence capability through mutually beneficial relationships, promoting benefits of reserve service and informing policy related to reservists. The Directorate has a broad regional footprint and comprises an integrated workforce across four teams: National Priority & Planning; Regional Engagement; Employer Support and Service Protection; and Policy and International Engagement. ADFRES is responsible for the Defence enterprise approach to employer engagement through the delivery of a strategic relationship model. Employer engagement includes the conduct activities such as Exercise Boss Lifts and Employer Support Awards. ADFRES is also responsible for, administering the Defence Reserve Service (Protection) Act 2001, governance of the Employer Support Payment Scheme, providing input to Service employer engagement briefs and activities and secretariat support to the Defence Employer Partnering Network. Our Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be able to provide evidence of strong leadership aligned to One Defence Leadership Behaviours. Demonstrated experience successfully leading a regionally dispersed team; with a focus on customer-centric, collaborative approaches to achieving outcomes. We are seeking someone with experience in developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. The successful applicant will have the ability to be flexible and adapt to the changing priorities of a busy workplace.
