Who we are looking for: We are seeking a Senior Motion Designer to join a tight-knit group of individuals supporting a global Fortune 20 energy company. Based in Barangaroo Sydney Australia, the ideal candidate is an innovative storyteller with an expertise in crafting and leading ideas from concept to completion. Working closely with our creative teams in London and New York, our new APAC Senior Motion Designer will be part of a highly collaborative creative studio and know how to leverage their visual acumen to create impactful solutions that bring brand stories to life and achieve client objectives. What’s the scope: Creative Strategy Execution (80%) • Create and deliver best-in-class motion graphics, animations and short-form videos from concept to execution: o Lead and contribute to ideation and brainstorming sessions o Pitch breakthrough ideas and provide high-level strategic and conceptual thinking o Provide visual direction and guidance on creative assets o Create motion graphics, animations and short-form videos for a wide range of formats, sizes and channels: desktop, mobile, banner, social, apps, etc. o Distill, decode and deconstruct creative challenges into visual concepts o Fact- and copy-check to ensure all information is accurate o Consistently follow client's brand and style guidelines • Work closely with Client Services, Editorial, Production (both internal and external) and UK / US Designers to refine outputs to meet client objectives and stay within budgets • Collaborate with team members to ensure they are always fully up-todate on each project • Confidently communicates content ideas and the strategic rationale behind them • Demonstrate problem-solving skills when dealing with client feedback • Demonstrate strategic thinking by staying abreast of client’s business, emerging industry trends and topic areas with an aim to be ahead of the curve on innovative storytelling • Work independently and manage workflow efficiently - take responsibility for deadlines and delivery, flag potential issues early, manage freelancers and production vendors • Help to maintain an archive of all visual assets Growth Business Development (20%) • Support pitch development and presentations as required • In partnership with the APAC Client Services Director, refine and implement an effective creative development process and actively participates in discussions • Monitor news and trends relevant to key clients/accounts to identify risks that may impact current projects and opportunities to pitch relevant new ideas What you’ll bring: • Experience in creative content concepting, development and design (advertising or marketing background a plus) • Excellent portfolio showcasing high-end motion skills and clear aesthetic perspective • Fluency in video editing, motion graphics and animation is mandatory • Excellent illustration skills: digital, vector-based • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Excellent time management to deliver a high volume of high-quality work on tight deadlines • Detail-oriented, organized and comfortable managing multiple projects and client feedback • Flexible, adaptable and responsive when quick turnarounds are required • Strong command of design principles, typography, colour theory and conceptual thinking • Expert knowledge on a Mac platform; Adobe Creative and After Effects • Experience using collaborative team communication and project management applications like MS Teams & Monday.com to ensure efficiency • Animation skills a preferred asset SJR is dedicated to employment equity and welcomes diversity in the workplace.
