Click on the video below to learn more The Role Reporting into the Head of Legal, the Legal Counsel supports NGS Super Pty Ltd (Trustee). This newly created permanent, full-time role is based out of our Sydney Head Office and will deliver legal services to the Trustee including advising the Trustee regarding superannuation and financial services regulatory law, reviewing contracts and disclosure materials and assisting with other legal issues. Key focus areas include: Providing legal advice to the Trustee regarding RSE licensee law and the financial services laws, including the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act 1993 (Cth), Chapter 7 of the Corporations Act, associated regulations and prudential standards. Reviewing and negotiating contracts and arranging for execution with DocuSign. Supporting Line 2 with ASIC and APRA breach reporting. Alerting matters to the Head of Legal as appropriate. Reviewing disclosure documents for the Trustee. Working with the Risk & Compliance team to identify, research and report on regulatory change and case law impacting the Fund and providing support to business representatives in the implementation of regulatory change. You have Qualifications in law and a current practicing certificate. Experience within private practice or experience as in-house counsel. Current knowledge of the superannuation industry, regulatory and legislative frameworks. High level proven communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and independently. Desirable A practising certificate that is not subject to a requirement to engage in supervised legal practice. 3-5 years’ post admission experience with a law firm or as in-house counsel. Experience with superannuation law and/or financial services law.
