As a Senior Category and Contracts Specialist, you’ll be responsible for driving strategic procurement initiatives, ensuring the business derives maximum value from supplier relationships while maintaining compliance with industry standards. You will take ownership of category planning and contract strategies that not only optimise supplier performance but also contribute to overall business success. Managing supplier relationships, negotiating high-value contracts, and delivering cost efficiencies will be key aspects of your role, ensuring the organisation achieves its commercial objectives. What You’ll Be Responsible For: Developing and implementing strategic category and contract management plans to drive cost savings and operational efficiencies. Leading contract negotiations to secure the best commercial outcomes while ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships to enhance performance and drive continuous improvement. Providing commercial and governance support for contracts, ensuring adherence to procurement policies and frameworks. Identifying and mitigating risks while optimising supplier performance to deliver value across the organisation. To succeed in this role, you should have a strong track record in procurement and contract management, ideally within utilities or large infrastructure organisations. Your negotiation skills will be second to none, allowing you to secure favourable terms and drive commercial outcomes. A keen eye for risk and compliance, combined with the ability to foster strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, will be essential. A relevant qualification in Procurement, Business, or Finance is highly desirable, and professional certifications such as MCIPS will be considered advantageous.
