As Engineering Technical Officer will be responsible Review and assess development applications and engineering drawings for civil infrastructure to ensure compliance with relevant policies, guidelines and specifications. Undertakes regular site supervision of works at designated hold points and final inspection of civil infrastructure to be taken over by the Shire to ensure compliance with current specifications and guidelines. Undertake regular site supervision of works by service authorities and contractors within Shire managed land at designated hold points and completion Liaise with service authorities and contractors to ensure reinstatement of Shire infrastructure is completed in accordance with the Shire specifications and requirements. Undertake assessment of crossover applications and other minor development applications. Undertakes field surveillance and infrastructure compliance duties. Administer and coordinate service relocations as and when required, including obtaining quotations and 'Dial Before You Dig' information. Assist in the delivery of special projects relating to the Infrastructure Services Directorate. Provides technical support to the Engineering Developments Lead and Manager Engineering Services. Prepare reports for Technical Services Committee and Council meetings, including following up Council recommendations on reports prepared. Maintain the Subdivision Register and Complaints Register. Assist in the review of Crossover Specifications and Engineering Standard drawings for subdivisional development. Specifically, we are seeking candidates with: Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field. Minimum 3 years' experience in civil engineering design and construction. Demonstrated experience in assessment and conditioning of subdivision and development applications. Well-developed working knowledge of design, construction, and maintenance principles for Local Government infrastructure, facilities and services. Knowledge and understanding of current relevant statutory requirements, Acts, Local Laws, Policies (internal and external) and Council's Local Planning Policy. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills which enable: High level problem solving, negotiation and dispute resolution skills; and High level, layman friendly verbal and written skills Current 'C' class driver's licence.
