A Casual opportunity currently exists for a dynamic and proactive security professional to join us within our Security Team to cover planned and unplanned leave. The Security Officer will take responsibility for the security operation of the venue whilst on shift, ensuring the safety of all staff and patrons entering the venue, while maintaining the security of all buildings that form part of the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. You will secure, watch, guard and protect the venue using the Building Management System (BMS), CCTV system, electronic key system and Main Fire Panel. You will conduct regular patrols of the Centre and grounds, respond to fire alarms and isolate and de-isolate the fire board, both day to day and during events. To succeed in this role, you will be well versed in building security, with significant experience in a similar role. You have firm knowledge of systems such as CCTV and Building Management System (BMS) and are able to use these systems confidently. You possess excellent attention to detail, have strong communication skills and are naturally customer service driven, with the ability to work in a dynamic and ever changing environment. You are able to perform in your role unsupervised and enjoy working alone. Essential qualifications and licences: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the Security industry; Experience in CCTV Monitoring; Experience using a Building Management System; Current First Aid and CPR Certificates; Certificate III in Security Operations; Current Open Driver’s License; Current Queensland Security Providers Licence with the following licence types: Security Officer (Unarmed) Security Officer (Monitoring) Work Health and Safety or Risk qualifications will be highly regarded but not essential. Please note: this is a casual role to cover planned and unplanned leave in the Security Team, therefore shifts can be irregular based on the business requirements of the security department. You will be required to work in isolation and will involve shift work based on a 24/7 rotating roster.
