About the role: The Legal Practice and Capability Branch provides strategic and operational support to the Agency’s legal function for the Chief Counsel and General Counsel Division. As the Legal Practice and Capability Officer you will be required to fulfill the below responsibilities: Provide policy advice based on relevant policies and legislation. Understand and work within the Agency’s legislative frameworks, ensuring adherence with statutory time limits. Engage with key stakeholders, including the Tribunal, internal and external Lawyers and Case Managers to achieve agency goals by providing administrative and clerical support. Conduct research activities, create case summaries, draft correspondence, and complaint responses. Manage and complete administrative and clerical tasks in a fast-paced working environment. What you’ll need to succeed: Previous experience in a similar role, Paralegal or similar (law student / legal secretary / legal administration) is highly desirable. High attention to detail and accuracy Proven ability to produce high quality work in a deadline driven and demanding environment. Exceptional organisation and time management skills. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Criminal History Check, Worker Screening Check and / or Working with Children Check (where required) along with proof of Australian Citizenship .
