We’re looking for a Practice Administrator / Receptionist to oversee the smooth day-to-day operations of a local family-owned practice. As the Practice Administrator, you’ll be the backbone of the operations, ensuring both practitioners and patients receive the best possible support. From managing bookings to coordinating schedules, your role will be essential in maintaining the welcoming and professional atmosphere the practice is known for. This part-time position offers a schedule of five days per fortnight, working on Mondays, Tuesdays, and every second Wednesday. Your hours will be 8:45am - 5:15pm. Key Responsibilities Be the first point of contact for patients, delivering warm and professional assistance. Handle appointment scheduling, including room allocation and availability Manage Medicare and HICAPS transactions with attention to detail. Maintain clear and effective communication. Oversee daily operations, including correspondence, record-keeping, couriers and supplies. About You We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised, and approachable. The ideal candidate will have: A willingness to adapt to the needs of a small, family-run practice. A commitment to delivering outstanding patient experiences. The ability to manage schedules and prioritise tasks effectively. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience in medical reception, healthcare administration, or a similar role is preferred. Proficiency in practice management software and payment systems (e.g., Medicare and HICAPS) is a bonus.
