Join our team as an Analyst to coordinate the system security services and requirements in the NEM. About the role The Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the establishment and ongoing operation of new regulatory functions at AEMO, with a primary focus on the introduction of the security scheduling function under the Improving Security Frameworks (ISF) NEM Reform Project. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of strategic system security measures and regulatory processes, driving the success of AEMO's security initiatives and ensuring the effective and compliant operation of the power system during this period of significant transition. What you will be doing Liaise with Real Time Operations and other Operations teams to maintain Power System security. Work collaboratively with Operations teams to identify gaps and lead the rectification of problems related to essential system services, such as strength and inertia, in close to real time. Be responsible for monitoring and scheduling security services using AEMOs Security Scheduling Function tools. Provide advice and reporting on the new scheduling function. Raise scheduling function risks and issues as they occur in BAU and provide key SME input for their resolution. Being within the AEMO Operations Division, you may also be required to be part of a roster to support operational functions during emergency situations. The position will be located at one of the Adelaide, Norwest, Sydney CBD, Brisbane, or Melbourne AEMO offices. Infrequent travel for workshops may be required. AEMO works in a hybrid environment (remotely and onsite). What you will bring to the role Education / Certificates Tertiary qualifications in engineering, science, business, project management or technology-related field or equivalent industry experience. Experience and Knowledge Basic level understanding of the various aspects of power system security knowledge of the NEM regulatory environment with an understanding of the different roles of AEMO, AEMC, AER, and other relevant bodies. Interest in and some knowledge of power system security procurement arrangements and the ISF rule change (desirable). The ability to communicate in a clear, concise and positive manner. The ability to deal with people at all levels, establish and maintain strong relationships across a range of internal and external stakeholders, including NEM Participants and AEMO staff, as well as achieving the required results. The ability to identify and clearly articulate problems and recommend solutions. Proven analytical skills including business process improvement.
