Following the decision by the Australian Government to acquire UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters from the US Government, Lockheed Martin Australia has established a core team of experienced military Rotary Wing professionals to support the initial procurement and ongoing sustainment activities. We are pleased to invite applications for this 24 month fixed term position of UH-60M Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join our UH-60M Black Hawk team in Holsworthy, NSW. This is a fixed term position until Dec 2026. Your responsibilities will include: Undertake the full spectrum of maintenance and support tasks for Common and UH-60M Aeronautical Life Support Equipment, and test and calibration of support and test equipment. Provide task supervision, and task planning and control, for a blended team of ADF and contractor personnel. Provide error capture (ALSE) where required. Perform maintenance on assigned aircraft life support equipment as directed by the Army ALSE Leader. Evaluate and maintain on-hand spares and consumables pertinent to their section. Perform all maintenance in accordance with approved data as defined by relevant operational instructions to the highest standards of quality. Conform to all EH&S requirements, both Sikorsky Australia and Australian Army. Conduct secondary activities within the bounds of training and authorisations as directed by your manager. About you: As an AME Independent Inspector Level 4 you will ensure, aircraft and associated ALSE components are airworthy in accordance with prescribed aviation standards. Responsible for the work they perform and are required to endorse all maintenance and General Maintenance Tasks (GAT) (if required) completed in the aircraft continuing airworthiness record system. Perform Task Sign-off and Certification of Maintenance within the scope of their authorisation. Qualifications - essential Platform specific safety familiarisation course (or equivalent), System or component specific courses for component level maintenance Competence assessment on the task being authorised. Appropriate aircraft trade qualifications (eg. trade papers, apprenticeship, indentures etc). Qualifications – Desirable Relevant experience (to be assessed for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) within 6 months of commencement) (highly desirable) Experience & competencies - essential Advanced working knowledge and understanding of the requirements of DASR’s, Outstanding level of professional mastery, Excellent understanding of Plan, Brief, Execute, Debrief (PBED) principles, Excellent understanding of the effects of Human Factors in Maintenance, Experience & competencies - desirable Experience on helicopters and/or components Previous experience in the maintenance of ALSE assets in the aviation industry with a strong focus on operational availability and first-time quality Special Requirements: Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
