A long term contract within the Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG), ideal for an Engineer with experience in interested in evelopment and advancement of energy recovery technologies to support Australian Navy. Requires experience with energy efficiency and recovery research and Australian Citizenship for security clearance reasons Salary guide: $46 per hour Fishermens bend, Victoria  You will be developing and advancing energy recovery technologies and undergoing research and development of novel energy efficiency and recovery technologies. This will be a hands on research position working in small team environment Other major tasks for the contract will include: Operation/ running of DST Group plant and control room facilities, including compressor and air-heater systems, for the purpose of conducting technology assessment and performance evaluations; The development of energy efficiency and energy recovery numerical models, for the purpose of research, system level evaluation, and whole of maritime platform level evaluation; Undertake research and evaluation tasks associated with maritime mechanical systems, including: system test apparatus design and assembly, instrumentation installation and wiring, and data acquisition; and Preparation of reports where required. Your client, DSTG is the Goverment's Defence R&D arm. They are currently engaged in various maritime platform energy efficiency and energy recovery areas. You will need Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant field Experience with energy efficiency/ energy harvesting technology, construction and instrumentation of energy efficiency/ energy harvesting technology laboratory apparatus Laboratory experience undertaking technology test, evaluation, and performance characterization.
