$91,702 - $104,753 up to 15.4% Superannuation Adelaide - SA, Canberra - ACT, Williamtown - NSW The Role The Aircrew Life Support Management Unit (ALSMU) Integrated Products team is responsible for the provision of Aircrew Life Support Equipment (ALSE) technical advice and inputs to acquisition of ALSE across 19 fixed and rotary wing platforms. Reporting to the ALSE Principal Engineer and Delegate of the Safety Authority - ALSE, the APS6 Engineering Professional is responsible for providing higher order engineering decision making and engineering review activities for ALSE technical advice and ALSE system safety for ADF common ALSE. The position is expected to achieve the following key outcomes: Develop and review technical product including: Advice on compliance and interpretation of Defence ALSE design standards. Complex ALSE risk assessments contextualised to the operational environment. Provide ongoing ALSE risk management support to Military Air Operators Provide technical support to the industry through-life-support partner. Support review and revision of Defence ALSE design standards. Support the delivery of technical continuation training. About our Team Surveillance and Response Systems Program Office (SRSPO) ensures the availability and performance of highly complex surveillance and response airborne and related systems for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) – including the P-8A Poseidon. SRSPO also acquires and supports common Aeronautical Life Support Equipment (ALSE) used on air vehicles operated by the RAAF, Navy and Army. We also support the MQ-4C Triton, a new remotely piloted high altitude long endurance aircraft system. At SRSPO we are passionate about working collaboratively with our stakeholders and industry partners to ensure the necessary acquisition, sustainment and regulatory requirements are fulfilled. We do this to support the war fighter and achieve the Department of Defence’s strategic and operational objectives. The current vacancy is located in Edinburgh-SA. However, remote work arrangements located out of Defence bases in Canberra-ACT or Williamtown-NSW may be negotiated.
