About the Role: As a Senior Engineer - Modelling Transmission Networks , you will be responsible for leading the modelling, analysis, and optimisation of transmission network performance. This role requires a deep understanding of transmission systems and the ability to leverage advanced modelling techniques to support network planning, operational efficiency, and long-term development strategies. You will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the network meets both current and future energy demands, while maintaining high reliability and performance. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and maintenance of detailed transmission network models to assess and optimise system performance. Analyse transmission network data to identify bottlenecks, areas for improvement, and potential risks. Collaborate with internal teams to provide engineering insights and recommendations for improving the efficiency and reliability of the transmission network. Support strategic network planning and assist with the integration of renewable energy sources into the transmission grid. Contribute to the development of long-term transmission infrastructure projects and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, providing clear insights into transmission network performance and potential optimisations. Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing across the team. Qualifications and Experience: Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, energy management, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus. Experience: Proven experience in transmission network modelling, network planning, or operations, preferably within the energy or utilities sector. Technical Expertise: Proficiency with modelling tools (e.g., PSS®E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or similar) for transmission systems analysis. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of transmission systems, grid reliability, and integration of renewable energy. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards, network codes, and regulatory frameworks relevant to transmission systems. Skills: Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends and translate data into actionable insights. Excellent communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders, including engineers, regulatory bodies, and senior management. Strong project management capabilities with experience delivering large-scale engineering projects on time and within scope. Leadership skills, with the ability to guide and mentor junior engineers.
