Network Engineer x 2 Contract to 6-month contract, plus possible extension| Brisbane & Work from Home Join a large Queensland government department as a Network Engineer, providing technical expertise for project delivery in APAC-E. Collaborate with partners and supervise 3rd parties to ensure successful outcomes. Key responsibilities include: Well-developed team skills, together with excellent communication and negotiation skills Ability to work to deadlines and manage within budgetary constraints Ability to deliver customer focused results during times of rapid change is essential Proven ability to follow formal project delivery methodologies is desirable Solid experience in delivering network infrastructure solutions within a project environment Peer review project delivery documentation Develop and document migration and implementation plans Ensure all administrative tasks (reporting and time sheets) are conducted as required in a timely manner Awareness, practice and commitment to safe working practices Participate in safety Meetings About You Able to design, configure and implement network solutions including Cisco switches, routers, wireless devices and firewalls is essential Experience with routing protocols in large organizational networks is essential Design network solutions ensuring security policies and practices are maintained to a high standard Provide technical input to project planning and implementation phases including: Development of scoping documentation. Create technical designs, equipment lists and implementation plans Implement these designs and produce support handover documentation including: “As built” documentation Updated diagrams Manage technical issues related to project implementation Experience with and ability to adhere to applicable policies, standards & solutions architecture Experience within large enterprise data communications networks is essential Experience with the use of Cisco ISE, Firewalls, DNAC are essential Experience with using SNMP based monitoring tools like SolarWinds, Orion or Cacti is desirable Automation and scripting skills desirable; Queensland based candidates only.
