The Opportunity We have a great opportunity for a Process and Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our high-performing and innovative R&D Team. This role focuses on the quality, safety, operations, development and scale-up of a wide range of pilot-scale manufacturing and analytical equipment. The role will be part of a cross-functional team, working closely with research and manufacturing to provide hands-on expertise, machine specification, machine improvement, process development and integration of new technologies into a global manufacturing business. What you’ll do Lead technology (machinery) scale-up from research into manufacturing Lead the specification, design, commissioning and safety of process equipment Take a hands-on approach to operational improvement of the pilot plant, focusing on quality, efficiency and reliability Prepare and maintain safety and operational documentation for manufacturing equipment Plan and oversee the maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of pilot equipment as needed Troubleshoot technical processing issues Managing upgrade projects in operations and plant areas Collaborate effectively with manufacturing personnel, vendors, and suppliers to deliver the best solution to the business. What you’ll bring A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a technical discipline (Process/Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering desired) Preferred 6 years of relevant experience in an engineering or manufacturing role Demonstrated ability as a strong hands-on Engineer with manufacturing equipment, operations and maintenance experience Working James Hardie At James Hardie, our people are at the centre of everything we do.
