We are looking for a Principal Water and Wastewater Engineer for an owner's team vacancy based in the Perth CBD for a 12 month contract. Monday to Friday, 9 hour days, $1080 - $1200 per day Super Key Responsibilities: Provide specialized technical expertise and guidance in water engineering assessments to meet business objectives and project goals. Support the design of water treatment and reuse systems, with a particular focus on reverse osmosis technologies. Collaborate on the design and analysis of processes for water treatment, wastewater management, and discharge, which includes: Reviewing and summarizing water and wastewater quality data. Developing and evaluating mass balances, process flow diagrams (PFDs), and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). Designing and specifying chemical dosing systems. Sizing unit processes and developing equipment specifications for water and wastewater treatment systems. Create comprehensive design reports, technical specifications, and documents to summarize recommendations and progress. Contribute to the development of water management strategies and review water management plans for diverse projects, both local and international, over their entire lifecycle. Provide technical support to the project team on water treatment challenges affecting design, construction, and maintenance of engineered structures. This includes water supply evaluations, water balance modeling, and wastewater assessments. Develop and review water quality sampling and testing plans to guide treatment design and water supply research. Coordinate with a broad range of project stakeholders, including engineers, consultants, utility providers, vendors, manufacturers, and regulatory authorities. Work closely with consultants to review and refine water management plans and water balance models. Engage with contractors and vendors during the feasibility, detailed design, and construction phases. Ensure that the design complies with relevant industry standards, regulations, and permitting requirements. Foster strong communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of the project. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering. Recognised as a Professional Engineer. Over 15 years of experience in water engineering, covering feasibility studies, design, construction, and commissioning. Strong expertise and understanding in chemical water treatment and wastewater treatment design (desalination experience is an advantage). Proven experience in designing water treatment processes, conducting mass balances, selecting and sizing equipment, and planning water systems. Experience in the design of desalination plants or ultra-pure water production facilities is preferred. Exceptional attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Capable of adapting to multidisciplinary needs as required and effectively communicating technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders. Understanding of Australian regulatory standards and international practices for water and wastewater treatment and management. Strong skills in data analysis, management, and strong computer proficiency. Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities. Unlimited rights to work in Australia.
