Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership: Oversee and conduct technical studies, including grid impact assessments, compliance testing, and modelling for renewable energy projects. Project Management: Manage the end-to-end grid connection process for large-scale renewable projects, ensuring timely and efficient outcomes. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with developers, network service providers, and regulatory bodies to facilitate seamless grid connections. Policy Implementation: Provide expert advice on grid codes, technical standards, and regulatory frameworks impacting renewable energy integration. Problem-Solving: Address technical challenges related to grid stability, frequency control, and system strength. Innovation: Drive continuous improvement in connection processes, tools, and methodologies to support the transition to a cleaner energy future. About You: You are an experienced electrical engineer with a proven track record in grid connections and a deep understanding of Australia’s energy landscape. Key qualifications include: Experience: 7 years in grid connections, power systems, or a related field, preferably within the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM). Technical Expertise: Proficiency in power systems analysis and modelling tools such as PSCAD, PSS®E, and PowerFactory. Renewable Energy Knowledge: Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, grid compliance, and system integration challenges. Stakeholder Skills: Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders and communicate complex technical concepts effectively. Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve technical challenges in grid connection projects. Education: A degree in electrical engineering or a related field; chartered status or equivalent is desirable. Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with Australian grid codes, regulations, and standards.
