The Opportunity: Due to growth within the team an exciting opportunity has become available to join our IT Risk and Security team on a Permanent Full-Time basis in Brisbane . Be at the forefront of cybersecurity, leveraging the latest techniques and methodologies to proactively identify, protect, detect, respond and recover against evolving cyber security threats. In this dynamic role, you'll lead the execution of proactive and reactive controls across technical and non-technical domains within QIC. Your expertise will be crucial in uncovering vulnerabilities, exposing potential threats, and ensuring robust contingency plans are in place. Key Responsibilities: Optimise QIC’s early detection and response capabilities through the management of log ingestion, creation of automated dashboards, reports and alerts Coordinate with QIC’s 24x7 Security Operations Centre (SOC) to manage relationship, develop security use cases and identify and assess IT security incidents. Develop, maintain, and support QIC's threat intelligence capability to proactively identify and mitigate cyber security risks by leveraging commercial intelligence, threat hunting, and an understanding of threat actor activities and motivations. Provide advice and insight to QIC management on significant emerging threats and recommend tactical or strategic change to counteract these threats Monitor and report on QIC’s technology assets so all vulnerabilities are identified, assessed and remediated in accordance with QIC’s risk appetite, along with providing advice on zero-day vulnerabilities. Execute incident management procedures, including the monitoring and management of all local security breaches, initial incident triage, cause analysis and impact, and then taking appropriate action to prevent recurrence wherever possible while ensuring all incidents are logged. Collaborate with the delivery teams to ensure optimal use of security controls and system, along with IT Risk and Security policies remains aligned with stakeholder requirements. When required, mentor and guide junior team members to deliver quality solutions, supporting the growth and development of the team. About You: Recognised qualifications or experience in Information Technology. Extensive experience in cybersecurity practices, preferably across the banking and finance sectors. Demonstrated experience with implementing, configuring, and managing security tooling, including SIEM, Email Gateway and Web Proxy. Experience with vulnerability scanning tools, preferably Qualys, including the analysis and reporting of data and ability to provide recommendations to management. Experience with providing technical guidance for security hardening and best practices for Modern Cloud and Infrastructure environments. Ability to advise on the implementation and configuration of Firewalls. Experience and understanding with scripting and automation. Excellent report writing capabilities and communication skills.
