Platform System Engineer Department : Digital Division : Cloud, Platforms, Infrastructure & Networks Reference number : 11934 Brisbane The Cloud, Platforms, Infrastructure and Networks team is accountable for supporting and managing AEMO's IT Infrastructure across: Cloud, Platforms, Integration, Networks, Databases and our On-Prem Data Centre facilities. By designing and building robust, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure solutions. This role is ideally suited to individuals looking to expand they technical skill sets across multiple technologies, by supporting and maintaining AEMO‘s underlying infrastructure from within the Platform Services Team. Which includes but not limited to the support of the on-prem compute and storage and data protection platforms. The infrastructure underpins AEMO’s critical highly available services and is essential to ensuring the security of the Energy markets and systems. The challenge is to balance the operational availability demands and deploying project for new services in an environment that is undergoing a digital transformation. Role responsibilities Responsible for BAU operations on a 24/7 basis in the Platform Services Team. Ensuring that infrastructure and services are monitored and secured against internal and external threats, including risk management and information security. Responsible for maintaining Storage & Data Protection infrastructure. Maintain technical knowledge with Microsoft Products. (E.g., Server Builds with current OS’s, and M365) Maintain technical knowledge with Redhat Products. (RHEL Servers, Openshift and Ansible) Work with Microsoft support and other support providers as necessary in order to resolve problems and develop infrastructure solutions Collaborate with market participants and internal technology groups and stakeholders to develop and implement services and resolve issues with IT systems. Follow ITIL best practices for change control to AEMOs cloud services, data and collaboration services whilst maintaining their availability and security boundaries. Required to be on the On-call roster 247 support to respond to incidents after hours (Rotation 1 in 8 weeks) Experience and Knowledge Excellent server administration skills with solid experience in automation and workflow improvement including coding and/or scripting. (through DevOps and Ansible) Strong history with hardware and software debugging and troubleshooting Strong hands-on deployment and operational experience with Microsoft products (M365, Teams, Exchange, Windows Server, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Clustering and File Services), Azure and AWS environments. Strong hands-on experience in Enterprise organisations with on premise Private Cloud, comprised of VMware, Windows, Dell, Pure storage Data domain and CISCO networking and security approaches. Microsoft Azure skills and knowledge of ITIL environments Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to proactively report on improvement areas Education/ Certificates Education/Certification Degree qualifications in Computing and IT, Communications/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
