Earn an industry-leading rate on a rolling contract basis About the Role As a Civil Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering surface groundwork projects, including roads, dams, levees, drainage systems, and industrial facilities. Reporting to the Lead Civil Engineer, you’ll manage multi-discipline projects with precision and a commitment to safety, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest engineering standards. This role is based onsite at our Central Queensland Mine, offering a FIFO roster (4/3) from Brisbane or DIDO from Mackay. Key Responsibilities Safely plan, execute, and deliver projects within approved timelines and budgets. Drive compliance with the Site Safety and Health Management System (SHMS). Oversee project documentation to meet Small Project Management Framework (SMPF) standards. Apply project management principles to ensure alignment with site requirements and global standards. Manage engineering and construction contractors to achieve project objectives. Regularly forecast project costs, address variances, and ensure financial targets are met. Conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and impact assessments for project approvals. Identify and address resource requirements, project risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement. What You Bring Experience: 5-10 years of project delivery experience in civil works, ideally in coal mining or heavy industries. Expertise: Proficiency in designing and constructing roads, dams, drainage systems, levees, and industrial facilities. Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred. Compliance Ready: A current or recently completed Coal Board Medical is advantageous. Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills. You excel in building relationships and navigating complex operational environments.
