About the role The clerk in the Emergency Department is responsible for delivering professional and caring customer-focussed service, often as the first point of contact for patients, families and visitors. They ensure that all patient information for clinical and billing purposes is accurately captured for the 65,000 patients who present annually, and is entered into the information systems in a timely manner. The clerk works both front-of-house and back of department, rotating through a variety of roles which support our multi-disciplinary teams. About you To be successful in this role you will possess: Ability to provide quality customer service Excellent computer skills - experience in iPM, EMR an advantage High degree of flexibility and ability to work autonomously Highly developed interpersonal skills A strong commitment to high quality care The ability to work as part of a diverse team Excellent communication and organisational skills Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
