The Alternative Learning Centre (The ALC) based at The Ipswich State High School is an inclusive learning space for students (15 years and above) who have previously faced significant barriers when accessing mainstream education. The ALC delivers tailored approaches to curriculum in response to students' individual learning, behavioural, social and wellbeing needs, in a supportive environment. This approach focuses on the 'whole' student and addresses their emotional, intellectual, physical, social, environmental, financial and spiritual wellbeing and development.The ALC identifies and develops clear pathways to post-school education, training or employment opportunities, whilst focusing on student-centred learning, wellbeing and fostering community partnerships.We believe in creating a sense of belonging through positive relationships with our students, staff and community.
