A role with unique responsibilities Our Day Hospital Administrators have a very important role within our Sydney CBD Day Hospital. You will be the first-person patients meet when they engage with our hospital. With exceptional service, underpinned by compassion and attention to detail, you will directly enhance the patient experience. Your responsibilities include: Ensuring best-in-class patient experience and customer service is provided at all times; and providing a broad range of administration duties including: Manage a busy theatre reception desk ensuring the readiness & cleanliness of the reception/waiting area Greeting patients on admission Management of theatre bookings and theatre schedule ensuring smooth flow Preparation of admission paperwork Perform Health Fund Checks as required Provide patients with informed financial consents / quotes prior to procedure Management of patient accounts, collection of excesses/co-payments and uninsured along with management of debtors Answer general phone enquiries and emails Management of DSU non-clinical stock e.g. stationary, printed materials Maintain accurate and effective record management systems including preparation of medical records admitting and discharging patients and recording all relevant information Complete monthly reports as requested Assist with hospital accreditation as required supporting the Director of Nursing and Regional Manager with any other administrative duties We are looking to fill this role on a permanent part-time basis, 3 days per week, where the days are negotiable. Are you the ideal candidate for us? The ideal candidate will see their role as vital to the success of the Sydney CBD Day Hospital. Understanding there are ups and down in a health care setting. You will be sensitive to the needs of patients and will be a passionate team player who has a commitment to quality, best practice and workplace safety. Ideally you will bring the following: Previous Hospital Administration experience (desirable) A passion for providing exceptional customer service to patients undertaking medical procedures Knowledge of medical terminology within an acute surgical hospital (desirable) Knowledge of patient hospital billing, workers compensation, DVA, Private Health funds Experience managing general enquiries and triaging calls Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to apply the 5E patient experience principles- empathy, entrust, engage, empower, expectation A confident user with computer systems and is competent with Microsoft Office Suite essential. Previous experience working with FYDO (advantageous) Strong attention to detail Ability to work cohesively within a multi-disciplinary team Superior time management skills with proven ability to multitask A willingness to embrace the Monash IVF Group principles – Care, Collaborate, Communicate, Commitment, Create.
