Firbank Grammar is seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring leader to work in our Senior School in a fixed-term, part-time position ( 0.79 FTE ) as Senior School Music Teacher & our Lead Choral. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the education and wellbeing of students and applying the best practice for our Senior School students to achieve success. The key role of this job is to provide engaging and thoughtful lessons, following planned activities in accordance with the faculty syllabi and school priorities. You will play a pivotal role in fostering a love for choir and music by creating engaging and innovative lessons that inspire students to excel. This position will include VCE Music Performance Units 1-4 (composite class), and will inspire and direct choirs ranging in age, auditioned and un-auditioned. This is a part-time (0.79 FTE) fixed-term role at our Brighton Senior School Campus, commencing in Term 2, 2025 and concluding at the end of Term 3, 2025 (April 23rd - September 19th, 2025). Key responsibilities Demonstrate passion for teaching Music and Choir. Oversee the choral programs on all campuses. Provide documentation of the detailed content of all courses in Music as an instructional guide for staff and as an informative picture of the activities of the department. Organise the musical input for events such as Musical productions, Church services, Anniversary Service, Induction Evening, Presentation Evening, and the Valedictory Service/Assembly. Organise choral music performances in conjunction with Head of Music and Director of Performing Arts. Teach in a way that enables all students to succeed.
