The Opportunity The role: We are seeking a casual Trade Mark Administrator to join our award-winning Melbourne Dispute Resolution team working 9.00 am to 5.30 pm three days per week. In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Administrator to provide administrative support to the Trade Mark team to enhance our client experience. Your day to day will involve: Filing Australian and foreign trade mark applications, including preparation and filing of supporting documentation. Completing and lodging documents via IP Australia's eServices database, the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand, and the World Intellectual Property Office. Managing renewals for portfolio clients, including liaising with clients for instructions and renewal of trade mark registrations online (AU, NZ, WIPO and other). Monitoring and updating our trade marks database (WebTMS) to reflect the status of our client's trade marks. Providing ad hoc support to the team such as dealing with incoming mail, amending documents and any other administrative duties. Skills & experience: As a Trade Mark Administrator, you will be a team player who has an inquisitive and collaborative work approach, and who takes pride in delivering high quality work on time. To be successful in this role, you will have: 1 years’ administrative experience. Previous customer service experience within hospitality or retail. An interest in a trade mark or IP. Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel would be beneficial). High attention to detail. A strong academic transcript. Enthusiastic, proactive and strong work ethic. Ability to think on your feet and adapt to a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of trade mark formality requirements in Australia and overseas (advantageous). Excellent communication skills both written and oral. This role would suit a university student in the first year of their Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor degree who is looking to progress their legal career.
