Biodiversity : Explore our Council region's varied flora and fauna Position objectives This position provides a high quality innovative, developmentally appropriate, kindergarten program which meets the individual needs of children. Key responsibility areas Develop and provide a high quality, developmentally appropriate educational curriculum within the guidelines of the National and Victorian Early Years Learning Framework. Ensure the Centre’s environment promotes the National and Victorian Early Years Learning Framework and the five National and Victorian Early Years Learning Framework Outcomes. Ensure the kindergarten is inclusive of children and their families through provision of a healthy, safe and welcoming environment. Develop, record and maintain specific objectives for individual children based on written observation across all aspects of each child’s development and link specific objectives for these children into the curriculum, sharing information with families, as required. Respect the confidentiality of information relating to families and children and comply with all relevant Council privacy policies and Education and Care Services National Regulations (2012). Perform, as directed, other duties that are within the limits of the incumbents’ skill, competence and training. Qualifications and experience Bachelor in Early Childhood Education and current registration with Victorian Institute of Teaching, or the ability to obtain. Required to hold and maintain a current Level 2 First Aid qualification, including CPR, Anaphylaxis Management and Asthma Management Training. Selection criteria A sound understanding and knowledge of early childhood development and education. Ability to develop, document and implement a developmentally appropriate education program for preschool children with parental involvement Ability to communicate effectively with carers, other staff and professionals. Demonstrated ability to present written documentation in a clear, concise and methodical manner. A commitment to maintaining a thorough understanding of the Frameworks and to use them in all planning and implementation.
