This position will bring strong experience in commercialisation of medical devices to the UQ team and extensive knowledge and experience working to quality management standards such as the ISO9000 series of standards, ISO13485, ISO 14971, EC Directives and international medical device regulatory guidelines. Key responsibilities will include: Provide expertise in medical device manufacturing and quality management standards, including ISO9000, ISO13485, ISO 14971, EC Directives, and international regulatory guidelines. Develop manufacturing partnerships with Australian medical device supply chain manufacturers. Engage and influence stakeholders for supply chain improvements, benchmarking global best practices, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. Contribute to research outputs, including report/manuscript preparation and recording experimental outcomes. Demonstrate leadership in ethics and safety, ensuring compliance with approved ethics protocols, and assist in designing complex research studies. Ensures a high standard of research housekeeping, waste disposal, sample storage and chemical/specimen/sample inventory management. Assists with developing a proactive safety culture and implement continuous improvement. A postgraduate qualification in engineering would be advantageous but not essential. Demonstrated multiple year industry experience in the Australian Medical Devices industry. Demonstrated experience in leading medical device product development projects to quality management standards such as the ISO9000 series of standards, ISO13485, ISO 14971, EC Directives and international medical device regulatory guidelines. Demonstrated industry experience in setting up contract manufacturing in multiple locations. Demonstrated ability to prioritise own workload, work independently and meet firm deadlines. High level of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Ability and willingness to contribute actively toward a safe working culture and environment.
