Key responsibilities include: Deliver user experience and user interface design that provides access to services, ease of use and high value to Queenslanders. Design user interface templates, patterns and components for the Queensland Government Design System that Queenslanders intuitively understand and feel empowered by. Reach a deep understanding of the range of customers needs, attitudes and behaviours in relation to digital products. Refine and apply design frameworks and principles. Communicate, collaborate and document in accordance with best practice design operations in an agile product development team. Prepare and handover developable specification documentation and review implementation for defects. Document the design system for the community of users by updating the UI Kit and website content. Safeguard design system principles and standards and use your passion and willingness to inspire and coach others within a vibrant design and stakeholder community. Follow best practices, meet standards (such as Apple HIG, Google Material Design, WCAG) and track the evolution of human computer interaction across technologies and emerging form factors, to ensure the design system meets changes in demand and enables opportunities for developers. Support customer experience and product teams to advise them on usage and help them prototype solutions using the design system. Conduct/participate in primary research in the form of user research, user testing and accessibility testing. The role reports to the Product Manager, Queensland Government Design System.
