A job to be proud of: We are currently seeking a Finance Customer Service Officer to join our Finance Department on a full-time 12 month fixed term basis. Working Monday to Friday for 37.5 hours per week, you will liaise and communicate with debtors to ensure that the maximum amount of overdue debt is collected for St John Ambulance within the framework of the organisation’s policy. What you’ll do: Take inbound and make outbound calls to negotiate settlement and suitable payment arrangements to finalise outstanding debt Make satisfactory arrangements for the payment of outstanding accounts to best meet the customer needs and St John’s debt collection requirements Provide support, advice, and assistance on general queries from employees and customers in line with Policies, Procedures, and relevant Legislation to maintain consistent service Record all relevant details of conversations with debtors to facilitate debt collection Investigate issues in a timely and appropriate manner in line with policy and in conjunction with the Line Manager, to resolve customer’s complaints and enquires Review outstanding debts on a daily basis to prioritise urgent debts Locate skip debtors utilising in-house and external search facilities to recover outstanding debt from customers Escalate complicated or difficult enquiries/customers to line manager to best facilitate debt collection process Reverse and recharge accounts rejected by Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) and correct any errors What you’ll need: Excellent customer service skills Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines Ability to negotiate and liaise with customers Intermediate level of competency in Microsoft Office Suites Excellent communication skills Experience in negotiating and conflict resolution What’s in it for you?
