About the Role: Manager Property and City Design Reporting to the Director City Development, the Manager Property and City Design is a key leadership role responsible for driving excellence across Monash’s property management and design functions. This position oversees Council’s diverse property portfolio, including acquisitions, disposals, leasing, and licensing arrangements, ensuring optimal outcomes for the community and alignment with strategic objectives. A critical aspect of the role involves leading the City Design team to deliver innovative and community-focused urban, landscape, and architectural design projects. From major public realm improvements to the design and development of Council’s buildings and open spaces, you will ensure high-quality outcomes that positively shape the future of Monash. This role also plays a significant part in major council projects, working collaboratively with internal teams, Councillors, and external stakeholders. As Manager, you will provide strategic advice on property and design matters, contributing to Monash’s vision of being one of the most liveable cities in Victoria. About You The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in property management, with some experience in urban design, or architecture desirable, coupled with a passion for delivering impactful projects that shape thriving communities. You are a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of managing diverse teams and building strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders. A commitment to fostering collaboration, creativity, and innovation is essential, along with the ability to balance competing priorities in a dynamic environment. Tertiary qualifications in property management, or a related field are required. Local government experience is advantageous but not essential.
