The Role Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Officer at the EL 1 or EL 2 level for a 6 month secondment to support the Legislation and Legal Policy Team within a high profile Commonwealth agency. This position is for a candidate with significant experience in drafting legislation, legislative reform, explanatory memorandums and other instruments as required. The Responsibilities The position requires the successful candidate work closely with the broader team to: work closely with policy and program areas of the Agency to provide legal advice and assistance with regards to the development of new measures in primary legislation administered by the Agency or in legislative instruments; and assist policy and program areas of the agency in legislative reform and policy advice work. The Requirements Legal qualifications, extensive experience drafting legislation and legislative instruments within a Commonwealth setting and a current practicing certificate are essential.
