The purpose of the Engineer (Electrical) is to provide professional electrical engineering support and advice for the efficient and effective operation of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) devices and traffic management systems. You will primarily be involved in projects associated with ITS. You will be involved in the planning, design, construction and maintenance of these systems as well as the development of the specification of new technologies and standards. Some of your responsibilities will include: Provide electrical and electronics engineering advice to staff and internal and external stakeholders. Participate in multi-disciplinary project teams delivering electrical projects. Provide assistance to management on a broad range of electrical infrastructure matters. Ensure effective coordination of key operational activities and time management across multiple projects. Provide technical expertise and administration of contracts to support design, construction and maintenance processes. Assist with the development of technical policies, standards and guidelines for Queensland in the domain of ITS and Electrical Services infrastructure which support the implementation of inter-operable road and transport based ITS applications. Perform research and development activities in a range of technologies that will further develop products. To thrive in this role you will need to demonstrate the following: Experience in Intelligent Transport Systems and Electrical infrastructure maintenance and delivery standards and practices and construction contracts. Analytical and technical skills to foster continuous improvement in the efficiency of systems and technologies to enhance decision making and manage risk. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions to a variety of audiences. Mandatory qualifications and conditions A Washington Accord accredited four-year degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalence recognised by Engineers Australia Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
