About the Role As the Head of Civil Design and Construction, you will lead a team of engineers and project professionals, driving the successful design and delivery of the City of Casey’s ambitious Capital Works Program. Reporting to the Manager of City Design and Construction, this critical leadership role focuses on overseeing the development of infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage systems, streetscapes, and recreational facilities. In this role, you will guide the team in implementing innovative, sustainable solutions while ensuring efficient project management, compliance with relevant standards, and adherence to time, quality, and budgetary goals. You will act as the Superintendent for Civil Construction contracts, providing technical expertise, managing contractual obligations, and delivering infrastructure outcomes that enhance Casey’s liveability and image. Additionally, you will oversee the development and maintenance of Council standard drawings, specifications, and forward planning for the capital works program. The role requires fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture that aligns with Casey’s values of Dream Big, Empower Each Other, and Make Our Community Proud. You will ensure the community's safety and wellbeing by integrating child-safe and emergency management principles into all operations. About You You are a visionary leader with a proven track record in civil infrastructure delivery and team management. With exceptional technical expertise and strong project management skills, you are adept at driving innovation and achieving strategic objectives. You thrive in collaborative environments, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in stakeholder engagement. To excel in this position, you will hold a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and have proven leadership experience in infrastructure delivery within local government or similar organizations. Your extensive background in contract administration and fulfilling Superintendent roles will complement your strong financial acumen and ability to manage complex budgets and resources effectively. Furthermore, you will have a sound understanding of project management methodologies and legislative requirements. A current Working with Children Check, National Criminal History Check, and Driver’s License are mandatory for this role.
