Job Info Location: ADELAIDE, SA Salary: Award Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position Job Description We are seeking experienced disability support workers to work with a individuals living in supported independent living (SIL) arrangements on a 24-hour roster. You will have experience working with people with complex behaviours. Included in this role is providing one on one individual support, supervision, well-being support, transportation and connecting with services and community groups. Disability support workers will have previous experience and be confident at working in residential settings supporting a young person with their needs. This role requires highly skilled individuals who are responsible, reliable, and experienced to work with the person to become as independent as possible. You will have a nature that is calm, can work under pressure or stressful situations, reliable, enthusiastic, Requirements Current NDIS workers screening check Minimum Cert IV in Mental Health and/or Cert III in Disability. Other related social and/or health disciplines are highly desirable. NDIS Quality Safety and You Certificate Current unrestricted South Australian driver’s license and own vehicle with comprehensive car insurance First Aid Certificate Assist clients with medication certificate Experience and Skills 1 year experience in disability working environment Demonstrated conflict management skills. Experience with problem solving with client challenges Experience working one on one with clients (working with youth 15-25 years also desirable) Good communication skills that results in trust and reliance Ability to cope under stressful situations when arise with client health concerns Job Type: Full time 38 hours a week Salary: $63000-65000 per year plus super Work Location: Adelaide, SA Key Responsibilities include: Providing one on one support to a client living with disability Assistance with meal preparation and nutrition Building clients individual capacity for independent living skills Responding to behaviours of concern and working as a team to support the client’s well-being Case notes and record keeping Working with SA Metro Care to support client’s goals and plans Following policies and procedures, including NDIS Code of Conduct Adhere to Duty of Care policies Hours and availability To be eligible for the role you must be available to work week days, evenings, and weekends shifts as needed. This includes passive overnight and active night shifts. There will be some flexibility in your working hours however to be successful in this role you may need to work a mix of weekdays and weekends.
