Reporting to the Head of Department, Orientation and Mobility, the Statewide AVT, O&M will possess deep knowledge regarding O&M in relation to students and children who are blind or have vision impairment.Key components of the role include: Working with school teams, SVIS staff and partner agencies to develop and implement appropriate programs, processes and approaches regarding the education of students with vision impairment in relation to O&M. upporting school teams regarding the safe movement of students who are blind or vision impaired around the school environment. Providing expert supportive advice across all areas of the curriculum in relation to movement, space and other related conceptual areas for eligible children and students. Working collaboratively with AVTs, BVI to support their knowledge of O&M in relation to the students they are directly working with. Providing supportive and sensitive support to families as relevant in relation to student needs within the school environment. The successful applicants will posses O&M qualifications or provide evidence of working towards this qualification.
