Senior Engineer - Transport and Stormwater Infrastructure - Local Council Location: [North Brisbane] Hourly Rate: $60 - 70.00 per hour Super 6 Month Temporary contract with high possibility of extension or permanent placement About the Role Are you a skilled Civil Engineer looking to make a difference? In this role, you will provide specialist advice to Council or its delegates on moderately complex development matters related to transport and stormwater infrastructure, as well as flood and storm tide inundation hazards. You will lead the assessment of development applications, ensuring alignment with legislative, policy, and business requirements. Your leadership will be key in providing technical oversight and guidance to Engineers involved in the review and assessment of development applications. You'll be responsible for ensuring that assessment outcomes and deliverables are met, while building strong relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve high-quality service outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert advice on development matters related to transport, stormwater infrastructure, and flood/storm tide hazards. Lead and oversee the assessment of moderately complex development applications. Offer technical oversight and guidance to Engineers in the review process. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, and developers. Ensure compliance with legislative, policy, and business requirements in all assessments. Collaborate with other teams to meet project objectives and deliverables. About You We are seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer with comprehensive experience in the delivery of engineering assessments and compliance services. You must be able to influence and negotiate moderately complex infrastructure and commercial agreements, while providing leadership and technical direction to your peers. Excellent communication skills are essential to liaise with a range of stakeholders effectively. To be successful in this role, you will also need: A degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification). Autonomous and confident in their abilities General Induction Licence (White Card) and a C-Class Driver’s Licence. Extensive knowledge of the planning, design, and construction of transport and stormwater infrastructure. A strong understanding of State Planning Policy, the SEQ Regional Plan, the Planning Scheme, and the Adopted Infrastructure Charge Resolution.
