Synopsis: INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. Development Engineer Salary: $98,273.24 per annum Closing: Friday 24 January 2025 Full time - Permanent Council is offering the opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Development Engineer to join the Engineering and Assets Department, based within Council’s Infrastructure Directorate. This role primarily consists of: Assess and review engineering plans for subdivisions, drainage, and roadworks to ensure compliance with relevant council standards and regulations. Supervise and inspect construction of approved development plans including monitoring of safe construction techniques and recording hold point and other inspections. Provide expert engineering advice to internal teams, developers, and stakeholders on infrastructure design and legal discharge points. Facilitate the asset handover processes, ensuring newly developed infrastructure is of high quality and suitable for long-term council maintenance. Respond to inquiries efficiently, maintaining strong communication with the community and stakeholders. The successful applicant will have extensive experience in this field of civil engineering and hold a degree in Civil Engineering with Professional Engineers Registration in line with the Professional Engineers Act 2019.
