About Us : Achieve Support Services is a specialised support provider. Our inspiration was to go beyond just providing support staff. We recognised that if support staff are specially trained in one particular area they become experts in delivering support to participants in that cohort. We have support professionals specializing in complex behaviour, mental health, ASD and Trauma-informed therapeutic practice. About You : Cert IV or equivalent in disability qualifications or similar Level 2 First Aid and CPR with Anaphylaxis training Working with Children Check NDIS Worker Screening Check NDIS Orientation Module Certificate Medication management training Position Summary : Reporting to the Accomodation services manager, as the Disability Support Worker you will be working as part of a team, carrying out duties in individual and group activities to support adults, children and young people with autism and their families. The Disability Support Worker assists our clients in all aspects of daily life and assists in the home environment, positive behaviour support plans, social activities and learning. Key Requirements : Passion for working with children, including very young children. Ability to relate well with young children, including children with disabilities. Ability to professionally, ethically and empathetically relate to parents Punctual, reliable and committed Clear, personable and professional communication, both written and spoken Exceptional attention to detail Professional communication style to all internal and external stakeholders Good computer skills required for the company practice management software Ability to work within a team and autonomously Ability to follow direction and take initiative Job Responsibility : Provide day-to-day support to children and young people with autism, as rostered and as per their individual support plans in clients’ homes, learning environments and the centre To take part in the development of individual support plans and to monitor, evaluate and review Assist in co-ordinating the day-to-day activities of other staff working on autism support programs and to assist in the development and implantation of novel autism-specific programs.
