Mandatory Requirements Eligibility to work in Australia Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence (Electrical Mechanic) Electrical trade certificate/qualification (minimum Certificate III Electrotechnology) Current CPR and low voltage rescue certificate Current Construction Industry White Card Queensland "C" class driver's licence or equivalent Working knowledge of current work health, safety, environmental legislation, and codes of practice (AS/NZ3000, Electrical Safety Act 2002, Electrical Safety Regulations 2013) About the roleSupport QBuild's efforts in strengthening Queensland's building and construction industry through construction, maintenance, and restoration of government-owned assets, and lead in training tradespeople. Duties and Skills Carry out electrical works, use testing equipment and safety gear for both construction and maintenance services. Interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications. Use office applications like Microsoft Word and Outlook and input data using devices. Understand safe working methods for asbestos, lead-based products, and other high-risk construction work. Comply with WHS legislation, site rules, risk assessments, and safety policies. Demonstrate responsibility for health, safety, and wellbeing. Foster a diverse, equitable, and safe workplace with a customer-focused mindset. Mentor apprentices at all year levels. Additional Information Duties may involve travel to worksites within your region or across the state. Overnight stays may be required for distant work. Safety clothing and PPE provided. Team leader or foreperson roles may be required as needed. Power tools provided where required. Use of private vehicle or QBuild vehicle based on policies. No guarantee of a home-garaged vehicle.
