Your contribution as an Engineer/Scientist, will be to: review the activities of the TSB program, including liaison and consultation with TSB's stakeholder organisations. assess and quality assure operational, survey, and environmental monitoring data, including analysis of events and trends. undertake field monitoring and surveying exercises to investigate coastal events and phenomena. import and analyse environmental and survey data using geospatial software packages and tools, developing GIS products, visualisations and outputs. support the Qld TSB team at TSB related workshops and meetings, providing technical data and support for T SB stakeholder interactions and meetings at all levels. undertake portions of the design, tendering and tender evaluation for TSB. fulfil the role of Storm Tide Advisor, including operating parametric storm tide models in the event of a tropical cyclone. foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people. About you have an interest in acquiring knowledge of coastal and environmental science & engineering. have experience collating, curating and analysing environmental data. demonstrate your analytical and research skills, including: data verification & manipulation; problem solving and project management skills. working as directed to achieve work objectives, when working in difficult circumstances, remaining positive, and responding in a calm professional manner. demonstrate your ability to cultivate and sustain relationships using your communication and liaison skills, as well as your ability to prepare concise technical reports and online information products. you will actively contribute to workplace equity and diversity, enriching our culture of safety, innovation, respect and inclusion. To be successful in this position you must: Hold a university degree (undergraduate and/or postgraduate from a recognised tertiary institution in one of the following disciplines: environmental, data, physical or applied sciences; or environmental or civil engineering. Be an Australian citizen, have permanent residency status or a visa permitting you to work in Australia. Hold a class 'C' driver's license, required for travel to Tweed Heads and for field work.
