The Role: We are seeking experienced supports worker to assist our male client in Murarrie, QLD. This role is available on a casual, on-going basis and will commence ASAP. The Participant: Our participant is a 43-year-old male and has a very easy-going attitude, and would like carers that are experienced and can guide him to become more independent. He has Spinal Cord Injury and an intellectual disability. He is from NSW and isn't familiar with the Brisbane area, hence, we prefer someone that can provide him the flexibility to explore the community and give him the ability to try new things. Our participant suffers from memory loss and will need a lot of assistance. He also cannot read and understand well therefore all information needs to be clearly communicated. Requirements: Due to the complexity of our participant, successful candidates must have prior experience working with complex care clients - which includes experience with: Hoisting Bowel therapy (twice morning and night) Catheter Management Manual Handling Skin checks (prone to pressure wounds) Community access (lives close to a train station) Domestic assistance Current Roster: Please note: flexibility with shifts is required. Monday to Sunday Shift 1: 9:30AM - 11:30AM Shift 2: 8:00PM - 10:00PM Pay rates: Day - $40.00 per hour Afternoon - $44.00 per hour Saturday - $56.00 per hour Sunday - $72.00 per hour Key Responsibilities: Personal care duties Assistance with bowel therapy Hoisting/transfers Daily skin checks Catheter Management Pressure wound management Assistance with domestic tasks Assistance with meal preparation Assistance with daily Health & Rehab exercises Medication Administration Community access Skills & Experiences: Experience with spinal cord injuries / brain injury or other high complex care participants Experience with catheter management Experience with bowel care OR willing to learn Prior experience with pressure injuries Hoist / transfers Australian Driver License & motor vehicle Current National Police Clearance Current Working with Children's Check First Aid & CPR Certificate NDIS Worker Orientation Module Please note: two current references are required If you meet the above criteria and are interested in the role, hit the "Apply" button now.
