About us: Rockhampton Hospital is the largest hospital in Central Queensland and the main referral hub for the region. A number of exciting initiatives are underway including the construction of a new multi-level car park. Once complete, it will provide 597 parking spaces for staff, patients and visitors to the hospital. About the role: To contribute to patient care by undertaking support tasks delegated under the supervision of a Social Worker. The role supports Social Workers in their day-to-day clinical and operational duties, to optimise patient outcomes. Under direction of Social Workers perform tasks including (but not limited to): Assist patients and their families with completion of forms and paperwork e.g. paperwork related to applications for residential aged care. Assist patients and their families access hospital services, e.g. organisation of accommodation and travel. Communication and liaison between Social Workers, Patient, Family and Carers. Liaison with external providers including Aged Care Facilities and services, Community organisations, government services. About you: Mandatory qualification/s: Nil. Non-mandatory qualifications/requirements: While not mandatory, possession of or in the process of obtaining the following is desirable: Certificate III in Health Services Assisting, or Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assisting, or Certificate III in Health Administration, or Certificate III in Community Services Work, Aged Care, Disabilities or similar.
