About the Role Reporting to the IT Technology Manager, you will be a core a member of the Technology Team responsible for maintaining network hardware and software, monitoring network performance, and troubleshooting issues to ensure minimal downtime. This is a pivotal role in our technology pillar which will also include evaluating new network hardware, including Infrastructure as a Service, to assess relevance, impact, cost and viability plus collaboration with other IT professionals to develop and implement network security measures alongside delivering Strategic and Corporate Plans in-line with the IT Roadmap. Key responsibilities Monitor and Analyse Network Performance : Proactively troubleshoot, analyse, and escalate network issues to ensure optimal performance and meet user demand. Risk Reduction and Network Availability : Maintain network access, monitoring, control, and documentation practices to minimise operational risk and enhance network reliability. Operational Procedure Management : Develop and ensure consistent execution of operational procedures to prevent unplanned outages and maintain network stability. Critical Situation Management : Support service restoration efforts and review network and firewall change requests to minimise disruption. Evaluate Emerging Technologies : Assess new network hardware, software, and market trends to enhance network capabilities. Data Collection and Analysis : Analyse operational data, such as incidents and change records, to identify trends and improve network performance and availability. Qualities you will need to succeed in this role Proven experience as a Network Engineer with in-depth knowledge of network protocols, technologies, and hardware/software configuration (including IAAS). Strong ability to research, analyse information, and make evidence-based recommendations to achieve team/unit outcomes. Experience identifying and resolving issues, selecting the best solutions from various options.
