About the role: As a Mining Engineer, you will play a critical role in providing technical direction and expertise in mine engineering and planning activities. This position is responsible for ensuring all engineering and planning processes adhere to relevant laws, regulations, standards, and operational procedures. You will also be instrumental in developing strategic plans, schedules, and mine development strategies that drive productivity improvements, optimise mining operations, and maximize profitability. This is a key opportunity to contribute to the success and efficiency of our mining operations. Your duties will include but not limited to: Prepare and develop weekly plans aligned with integrated mine plans. Daily monitoring, recording and optimisation of production progress. Maintain engineering processes and procedures. Provide technical input into the planning and coordinating of blasting activities. Implement pit designs, dump designs, and bench plans, ensuring efficient ore recovery. Provide technical advice and services to the open-pit production team to achieve mining targets. Participate in daily meetings to provide direction on mining activities. Contribute to incident investigations and implement findings to improve operational safety and efficiency. Assist in preparing end-of-month and statutory reports. Conduct workplace inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Support and execute strategies to maximize fleet performance and operational efficiency. Apply experience and expertise to systematically enhance mine activities, focusing on cost or time reduction, quality improvement, and value creation. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering. Unrestricted Quarry Managers ticket (Desirable) Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role. Extensive experience in open-pit hard rock mining, preferably in gold Strong knowledge of mining principles, techniques, and equipment. High level of computer literacy, particularly with Deswik and MS office suite. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills, strong initiative and organisational ability. Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental sustainability.
