It cares for a nationally and internationally significant collection of over 150,000 objects and protects the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Victorian gold rush. We are an Australian tourism icon that attracts some 500,000 visitors annually. The Outdoor Museum is internationally renowned as a living museum featuring rare trades, and programs and experiences that interpret a pivotal point in Australia's history. In all, some 350 staff work to bring our gold-rush story to life. They are supported by over 250 volunteers. Job Description: We are looking for a dedicated, energetic individual to serve as a Gold Pourer - Retail Customer Service Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for retail operations, customer service in our living museum, as well as gold pouring demonstrations. Responsibilities: 1. Performing gold pouring demonstrations for our visitors. 2. Educating guests on gold history, mining processes, and the relevance of gold in our daily lives. 3. Delivering quality customer service, ensuring all guests have a positive museum experience. 4. Assisting in the daily operations of the retail store, including cash handling, and point-of-sale operations. 5. Handling customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism. 6. Maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the retail and gold pour area. 7. Working collaboratively with the team to meet targets and goals. 8. Taking part in all training and development opportunities. Requirements: 1. Previous work experience in customer service, preferably in a retail environment. 2. Experience in public speaking or performing demonstrations is highly desirable. 5. Excellent communication and presentation skills. 6. Strong customer service skills, along with the ability to quickly and effectively manage customer concerns. 7. Cash handling experience is preferred. 8. Excellent problem-solving skills, and an ability to work in a team environment. 9. Flexibility in work hours; ability to work on weekends, holidays, and outside of traditional business hours.
